Rene personally experienced the Atlas's healing potential by rehabilitating his own physical degeneration. After being seriously injured in a military accident, Rene, with the help of physicians and osteopaths, corrected his misaligned atlas and initiated a profound self-healing process. This reaction intrigued Rene greatly and became the inspiration to the development of AtlasProfilax.
Between 1993-1996, Rene made two very significant discoveries. The first was that he was able to make a safe and permanent correction on the Atlas in one session, shifting it far enough over to re-establish and stabilize the atlanto-occipital joint. The second discovery was that all his clients, with a small exception, required the treatment. He observed that not only were most patients misaligned, but unusually identical in the position and location. It was during these times that Rene developed and refined AtlasProfilax.
